I want to use ICS connection sharing.
My Windows XP SP2 tells me, that "Internet connection sharing cannot be
enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP Address
that is required for automatic IP addressing".

I searched the registry for 192.168.0.1 but none was found. Also I did
Start/Run/CMD
typed
SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
START DEVMGMT.MSC
When Device manager loads - clicked View/Show hidden devices
and deleted all unused entries.

All other entries where also checked but none was uses with a static
IP. (except VMWare's network driver for NAT and Host only)

Does anyone know how to convince my XP that it allows ICS?

assuming you have two NICs, posting the result of ipconfig /all may help. For more and other information, go to http://howtonetworking.com.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
